Free floating
small plant which resembles a miniature water lily. It has nickel
sized, kidney shaped, green shiny leaves about 1 in. across that grow in
rosettes on the water. New rosettes arise from the plants to
produce new growth. An inconspicuous white flower with a yellow
center may be tucked among the leaves. The undersides of the leaves are
puffed with spongy, air-holding tissue, helping in the floating
quality. Again winterizing is only possible indoors in an
aquarium. |
